It is the alignment of crowded teeth which must
be done by an orthodontist that has been specifically
trained to this type of treatment. Orthodontic
treatment is considered a complex treatment.
There are important ground rules that must be
met before seeing an orthodontist which are:
• The mouth has to be free from disease (gum disease
& tooth decay)
• After patient start orthodontic treatment the
patient must visit the general practitioner to
ensure:
1. Patient maintains cleaning .
2. The mouth free of disease (gum disease &
tooth decay).
Orthodontic treatment is expensive but is very
long processes it may vary from 1-3 years depending on the
case.
the treatment is not painful but is uncomfortable.
After treatment is completed the patient must
wear a retainer (a removable device) for at least
6 months or longer otherwise the whole treatment
may be wasted and the teeth can move back to where
they were. Orthodontic treatment can be done in
all age groups but is preferably done on developing
teenagers. seek your orthodontist for additional
